About this Event
You survived cancer, but what happens next?
Childhood cancer rates have been increasing over the last few decades, while survival rates are simultaneously rising. However, the long-term health consequences of childhood cancer often go undiscussed, unacknowledged and unsupported. It can feel as though we're missing critical pieces of our own story.
We are Montana, Vinesha and Harman, three adult survivors who know that struggle intimately. We invite you to join us in an integrative gathering aimed at rediscovering who we are beyond survival.
Emerging research recognizes what we have each experienced personally - long-term effects of childhood cancer treatment shape our quality of life physically, cognitively, emotionally. Our goal is to provide support for the parts of the healing journey thar are too often left behind. These healing practices do not replace any other health care practices or treatment methods, but rather enhance the beneficial effects in an integrative way.
This unique event blends modalities that we are passionate about sharing, including: mindful movement, somatic awareness, soundbath, journaling, poetry and sharing circle with community connection. Each piece contributes to filling in a shared puzzle of post-traumatic growth. We are dedicated to regaining agency through reframing the narrative: yes, survival comes with challenges, but it also can contain hidden strengths, and deep meaning.
Join us for an immersive experience to remember: you’re not alone, your story matters and together we can fill in the missing pieces.
Highlights:
- Gentle somatic & embodied movement to connect you with your body in a positive way
- Mindfulness and presence as bridges to insight and safety
- Sound healing to ease tension and invite deep connection
- Journaling and poetry to give voice to what’s often unspoken
- Collective stories that affirm, witness, and empower
Who Should Attend:
Childhood cancer survivors seeking understanding, healing, and community.
Why It Matters:
Research is clear: survivors often report reduced quality of life compared to peers, and many experience late-emerging health issues like fatigue, cognitive challenges, and chronic physical conditions.
This gathering bridges those truths validated by science and shaped by lived experience into a collective healing space.
Our Focus on Post-Traumatic Growth
Research also acknowledges that some survivors experience post-traumatic growth. What is less discussed is how to get there. Our initiative is designed to help begin guiding survivors through that process in tangible and embodied ways, without spiritually bypassing the real challenges of this journey. We know the hardship of survivorship firsthand, and we also know that growth, meaning, and strength can arise from it. This event is a step toward showing survivors how that transformation can unfold, together.
