Figure Drawing: Skeletal Structure & the Human Form

Explore the fundamentals of drawing the human figure in this hands-on workshop. Through a variety of exercises using conte crayon and charcoal, students will learn to accurately assess the human form and develop foundational skills for figure studies. Classes include gesture sketches, short poses, and extended poses, with one-on-one instruction to guide each student’s progress.

Weekly Session Structure:
10 × 1-minute gesture sketches
2 × 5-minute drawings
1 × 20-minute pose
2 × 25-minute seated poses
1 reclining pose extended over two 25-minute periods
Breaks for model and discussion included throughout.
Price
This class is operating on a sliding scale. You may purchase the class at a rate you feel financially comfortable with, up to the maximum class cost of $135. All students will receive the same instruction regardless of payment.

(3) large binder clips
4- 6 Burnt sienna conte’ crayon sticks
7- 10 Vine Charcoal sticks
4 white crayon sticks for high lights
2 natural artist Chamois
2 large Kneaded erasers
9” x 12” sketchbook
Pencil set
Optional 18” x 24” drawing pad
Optional: 18” × 24” drawing pad for students who want to create more permanent works. Otherwise, newsprint is provided for studies, which is the focus of this class.
