Perhaps you fear that you’ll make a mistake, or look ridiculous, or fall down, or be judged negatively in some way. Perhaps you fear that your body will shake, your throat will constrict or you’ll forget your lines.
Enter Art Nefsky – the shaker of convictions and the weaver of dreams — the catalyst that raises the volume on desire and lowers the volume on fear. 7pm-10pm - Introduction & “Get Your Feet Wet”.
Saturday, May 25
9am-12pm - Group vocal technique exercises to improve breath and diaphragm control, volume, pitch, vibrato and tone.
12pm-1pm - LUNCH
1pm-5pm - “The Main Event” - Participants take turns performing their songs individually in front of the rest of the group while receiving feedback as well as customized performance exercises from Art.
Sunday, May 26
9am-10am - Breakfast, Coffee (provided) & Discussion
10am-12pm - Group Vocal Class
12pm-1pm - LUNCH
1pm-5pm - Another round of individual performances, discussions and conclusion.
7pm - Reception & Networking Party
8pm-10pm - Showoffs Variety Talent Showcase - Two, 40 min. sets with an intermission featuring Showoffs best variety talent chosen through video tape submissions and present students.
Workshop participants will be sharing the stage with some of Toronto’s best talent!
After Show: Open Mic and jam until 11pm
