Fiber Arts/Sewing: Sewing Camp
This is a series of four 3-hour classes with an emphasis on recycling and reusing materials. Get ready to learn new techniques, meet fellow sewing enthusiasts, and have a blast! All supplies are included for students ages 9 - 14 to learn about sewing in a fun and relaxed summer camp.
Camp Schedule is 9am - 12pm, Monday through Thursday.
Choose one:
- June 15 - June 18
- June 22 - June 25
- July 13 - July 16
- July 20 - July 23
At Sewing Camp students will have the opportunity to enhance their sewing skills under the guidance of our sewing instructor Shannon Marshall. Everything is included! We have the projects, materials, sewing machines, and tools here for you.
We are working on a different project each day and all supplies are included. Our projects are designed to be fun and easy for beginners. It's a small group of up to twelve students and we're going to have a great time sewing together!
Some of the skills we're learning:
- Project planning
- Creative use of materials
- Learn hand sewing and embroidery
- Learn to use a sewing machine and steam iron
If your student has their own sewing machine in good working condition, you are welcome to bring it with the power cord, foot control, and all available accessories.
Every student attending camp needs to be registered. We do not have room for parents, guardians, unregistered siblings, friends, or pets to stay during camp.
Refund Policy: No refunds and no make-ups if you miss a class, arrive late, or leave early.
Class length: 3 hours each day for 4 days, Monday through Thursday
Class size: 6 minimum, 12 maximum
Age range: 9 - 14
Instructor: Shannon Marshall, owner of Sonoma County Sewing Company.
Shannon has been a professional seamstress since 1998, a sewing teacher since 2005, and a local business owner since 2017.
Over the years she has worked with many local designers and small businesses, sewing their prototypes, samples, and custom orders
Cancellation Policy: Attendees must register for classes or request cancellations/refunds 7 days in advance. (Some classes may require more time.) Eventbrite fees will be charged to the attendee. No walk-ins.
