About this Event

Following the success of our previous Fetal Interventions Courses and in response to growing demand, we are pleased to announce the 11th edition of this comprehensive training program.

Course Overview. The primary aim of this workshop on the Fetal Interventions Course is to provide intensive, hands-on training for physicians, offering a deep dive into the techniques of fetal therapy and surgery within the framework of Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

Learning Objectives: By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped to:

  • Perform invasive, ultrasound-guided diagnostic procedures such as amniocentesis, CVS, and cordocentesis.
  • Conduct ultrasound-guided fetal therapy and targeted punctures.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply fetal shunts.
  • Understand and operate fetoscopy and laser equipment.
  • Use specialised tools for placental vessel laser photocoagulation.
  • Manipulate devices for cord ligation and occlusion.
  • Utilise endotracheal occlusion techniques for diaphragmatic hernia and fetal airway management.
  • Apply fetal surgery techniques for in-utero myelomeningocele repair.
  • Discuss validated indications and protocols for fetal therapy.
  • Explore experimental approaches in fetal therapy.

Course Structure: The course includes a concise theoretical overview of fetal interventions, covering procedures like CVS, amniocentesis, fetal blood transfusion, shunt placements, and fetoscopic methods. Participants will have extensive practice opportunities with simulation models developed by our experienced faculty, along with personalised feedback to refine techniques.

Feedback from previous courses has been exceptional, with many participants expressing that this training would have been invaluable at the outset of their fetal intervention careers to build a solid foundation in correct techniques.

Course Fees and Registration

  • On-Site Attendance (Limited to 50 participants): includes full access to hands-on training, course materials, coffee, and lunch.
  • Online Attendance: includes access to live-streamed lectures and course materials.
