A spectacular day of birding in one of the world's greatest birding locations, Point Pelee National Park. We will meet at the Visitors Centre Parking lot at 5 30am to be amongst the first on the tram to the Point. Witnessing the early fall out of migrants at Canada's Southern most Point is a must.
We will walk the various trails from the Point back to the Visitors Centre. Coffee/ Tea and snacks are available at the VC.
We will participate in the 100 species challenge and receive a commemorative pin.
Some of the locations we will visit include
Tilden Woods
Hillman Marsh
Wheatley Harbour
We will also attempt to locate rare birds that have been seen in the area and go and try for those.
Point Pelee is always a great time. Though I cannot guarantee a 100 species in each day I am confident We will be very close. Including some very rare and interesting species.
A fee of $65.00 per person is required
I will keep the group small to a maximum of 6 people. Small groups mean we can see many more species and enjoy our time watching them.
Sign up is required. I expect this event to sell out. I will also be leading a second day on May 12th which will followbthe same itinerary. On May 13th and 14th I am leading a two day event in which we will explore more of the Point Pelee birding areas.
