Australia’s oldest parliament is opening its doors for a fun-filled Festival of Democracy – an exciting open day with interactive and educational experiences that bring democracy to life.

Activities to entertain and inspire:
🏛️ Step inside our Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council Chambers
🎨 Get creative in art and craft workshops
🎭 Get involved with interactive storytelling
🎙️ Have your say in a mock committee role play
🗳️ Try voting with the NSW Electoral Commission
👑 Step back in time with Queen Eleanor, King John and the barons in an interactive reenactment of the signing of the Magna Carta, where the people’s voice changed history.
A ticket is required for each person 5 years old and over who is attending and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

NSW Parliament House is a heritage building and a workplace. These standards ensure that the event is a respectful and safe environment for the community, staff and volunteers.
- Please treat others, including Parliament staff and volunteers, with courtesy and respect.
- Do not engage in disruptive behaviour, including: disorderly or offensive conduct, physical abuse or threatening language.
- Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/carer at all times.
- No scooters, wheeled shoes or beach trolleys/wagons are to be used inside NSW Parliament House.
- No food or drink may be brought into the Legislative Assembly Chamber, Legislative Council Chamber or Theatrette, with the exception of water in a closed container.
- Food may only be consumed in The Long Bell Cafe (near the Fountain Court) or in the Speakers’ Garden (outdoor area), located near the Legislative Assembly. The Domain is also nearby and is great for picnics.
- Please be considerate of noise.
- Feet are not to be placed on the furniture.
