Join us for a joyous closing night of our weeklong celebration of the francophone regions of Cambodia and Vietnam with the award winning short film Grandman Nai Who Played Favorites, winner of the Jury Award for International Fiction at the Sundance Film Festival and directed by NYU Tisch graduate Chheangkea. The filmmaker will be present for a Q & A following the screening with creator and curator of LMF Cinémathèque Anna-Caroline Prost. In the film,dead Grandma Nai sneaks away from her afterlife after overhearing that her Queer grandson is about to get engaged to a woman- a poignant meditation on family, identity, and the pressure to conform.
