The Allapattah Collaborative CDC presents the 2nd Annual Festival del Plátano on Saturday November 8 1–6 p.m. at Juan Pablo Duarte Park (Little Santo Domingo). Free and open to the public the festival celebrates Allapattah’s Caribbean heritage with art exhibits traditional plátano dishes live music and cultural performances kids’ activities and a local market supporting small businesses. This year’s guest artist is world-renowned Dominican creator Néstor “Angurria” García known for his striking mural series Doña Patria: Dominican Beauty and collaborations with global brands.
Backed by the City of Miami and Commissioner Miguel Angel Gabela the Festival del Plátano highlights the cultural and culinary richness of the plantain across Afro-Latinx Caribbean and Latin American traditions—what Dominicans proudly call “Plátano Power.” Come experience an authentic neighborhood celebration and help strengthen the economic and social fabric of Allapattah.
