Join us for a heartfelt celebration of life honoring our ancestors and traditions.The Association of Mexican Entrepreneurs, United Merchants of the S. 9th Business Association and Fleisher Art Memorial are hosting the first annual South 9th Street Festival de Día de Muertos. Canta y No Llores! Sing, Don’t Cry! This is an event to celebrate the lives of our loved ones who are no longer with us with food, entertainment, dancing, a procession down 9th and family activities for all to enjoy.
Taking place on Saturday, November 2, 2024 along S. 9 th Street between Federal and Christian Streets. This vibrant event will honor and remember our dearly departed while showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of our Mexican Community through art, music, food, and activities. The event will run from 11am to 5pm, inviting people of all ages to partake in this meaningful tradition.
Day of the Dead is a beautiful and colorful Mexican holiday that commemorates loved ones who have passed away. Community members are encouraged to honor their passed loved ones at our Collective Ofrenda (or Alter) on 9th and Washington Avenue by sharing photographs, candles, marigolds, and favorite foods of the departed. This space will represent coming together and sharing a place of remembrance and celebration.

5:30 pm Dancers from Canpatlaneci Danza Azteca del Anahuac initiate the evening celebrations in Fleisher's parking lot
6-9 pm Entertainment by Los Guachinangos, Son Revoltura, Los Firefighters de la Calle, C hildren’s Mexican Folkloric Dance Group Ñuuxakun, Los Guachinangitos and much more .
