FESTA ITALIANA returns to Howard Smith Wharves for its fourth year… Bringing the romance, flavour and spirit of Italy to the Brisbane River 🇮🇹🍋
Across two unforgettable weekends, experience an immersive Italian waterfront celebration filled with authentic cuisine, spritz bars, live music, coastal cocktails and vibrant festival energy… Headlined by celebrated Italian chef Orazio D’Elia and the Australian debut of one of the Amalfi Coast’s most iconic dining destinations, Conca del Sogno.
Travelling to Brisbane for the very first time, Conca del Sogno will bring a taste of the Amalfi Coast straight to Howard Smith Wharves. Perched on the secluded shores of Nerano between Capri and Positano, the legendary beach club is famed for long seaside lunches, flowing prosecco and its world renowned Spaghetti alla Nerano. Joining Orazio for this exclusive collaboration, host Pierluigi Guidone will recreate the venue’s signature dishes and iconic Sgroppino cocktail for festival guests… A true slice of coastal Italy on the riverfront.
Feast your way through a menu of Italian classics and festival favourites curated by Orazio D’Elia, from fresh antipasti and Roman style pizzas to handmade pasta, porchetta rolls and indulgent desserts.
Start with antipasti including prosciutto with melon, caprese with buffalo mozzarella and salumi misti with pickled vegetables. Enjoy crispy fritto misto of calamari and prawns, golden arancini and Roman pizzas served by the slice including margherita, salamina and capricciosa.
Pasta lovers can indulge in Orazio’s signature Rigatoni alla Vodka alongside dishes including Calamarata with calamari, cherry tomatoes and chilli, Malloreddus alla Campidanese with pork sausage ragù, Risotto Cacio, Pepe e Gamberi and Lasagna alla Bolognese layered with slow braised ragù.
Main Lawn will once again come alive with an outdoor grill station serving Porchetta alla Romana in focaccia with marinated eggplant, cos lettuce and aioli… The ultimate festival feast!
For dessert, indulge in Sicilian chocolate cannoli, tiramisu, torta al cioccolato and the classic Neapolitan lobster tail pastry, Coda di Aragosta. Gelato Messina also returns with signature scoops and exclusive Italian inspired specials created just for FESTA ITALIANA 🍨
The drinks program will transport guests straight to the Italian coastline with a vibrant lineup of spritzes, cocktails and Italian wines. Sip on Aperol Spritzes, Hugo Spritzes and Limoncello Spritzes, alongside Peach Bellinis inspired by Venice’s iconic Harry’s Bar, Amaretto Sours and frozen Italian cocktails perfect for riverside sipping.
Making its festival debut, Conca del Sogno’s famous Sgroppino will take centre stage with the interactive “Sgroppino Show” hosted by Pierluigi Guidone… A refreshing Venetian blend of lemon sorbet, vodka and prosecco guaranteed to become your new obsession 🍋🥂
Felons Brewing Co. has also brewed a bespoke Italian Lager exclusively for FESTA ITALIANA… Crisp, refreshing and made for sunshine sessions by the river.
