About this Event

The Feminist Therapy Network launched in May 2023. Join us for our anniversary event where we will celebrate the first year of the network and continue to build feminist community and solidarities together.

We will be joined by:

  • Lucia Sarmiento Verano , speaking on Justice and Liberation in the Therapy Room.
  • Rebecca Morgan, in conversation on the rise on anti-trans panic in the UK and her new book Gender Heretics
  • Lynne Segal, in conversation about her life as feminist activist and her latest book Lean on Me: A Politics of Radicahe Red Clinic Collectivel Care
  • Members of The Red Clinic collective (more info coming soon!)
  • The Feminist Library, a trans-inclusive and intersectional feminist collective, will be selling feminist books and available to talk about their collection of feminist archives and their manifesto and principles.

Alongside joining the conversation with our wonderful speakers, there will also be opportunity to learn more about the Feminist Therapy Network - our ethos, the work we’ve been doing, ways we’re trying to build this feminist therapy community, what we have planned, and how you can get involved.

SOLIDARITY SWIM and AFTER-DRINKS

As well as an event space, West Reservoir is a beautiful open water swimming venue . So, for those of you that would like a post-event Solidarity Swim together, we are currently liaising with reservoir staff on how to arrange this and will share information nearer the time.

Don't want to swim, but still want to hang out and chat with folks some more? No problem! We have a space reserved in the garden at from 5.30pm onwards which is just a five minute walk away.

We hope you’ll be able to join us and keep the conversations going a little longer - in water or on land!

RESPECT & SOLIDARITY

This event will held in accordance with the Feminist Therapy Network's ethos. Please familiar yourself with our ethos before purchasing a ticket. We are gathering with the intention of unlearning and learning together and embodying respect and solidarity in our interactions with each other. This includes - but is not limited to - being respectful of, and not making assumptions on folks' pronouns and being aware of our positionalities as we share space together.

Should anything feel difficult for you on the day, the organisers - Rebecca, sissy and LV - will be available for solidarity and care and will make themselves known at the start of the event.

FURTHER DETAILS

Arriving: The venue will be open for arrivals from 1pm onwards. If you arrive earlier, there is an onsite café, or just wait outside if the sun is out! If you can, please try to arrive with your eventbrite tickets on your device. We will open the event at 1.20pm.

Travel: West Reservoir Centre is 10 minute walk from Manor House and 15 minute walk from Finsbury Park tubes. Buses 141, 341 and 106 stop close by. Car parking and bike racks are available.

Accessibility: West Reservoir is a fully accessible venue. More details on accessibility can be found here. Please contact us if you have a specific access need we can support with.

We will gather together in the beautiful Tower Room with views of the water. We have chosen this space due to it's high ceilings and plenty of space (twice as much as we need). Mask wearing is not required but will be welcomed. We recommend bringing a mask to enable more easeful conversations with those wearing.

On the day, if you are experiencing Covid symptoms, please test before travelling to the event and do not come if you test positive.

Refreshments: We’ll be providing herbal teas, cakes and water. There is on-site café should you wish to purchase alternative drinks or snacks.
