Why a new series?
Because vinyl is a fundamentally different experience
Vinyl unlocks music from artists and labels that didn’t survive into the digital age
Music that requires going on an adventure to find, like digging through mouldy crates in dusty storage rooms…
Music that is produced to be pressed on wax often has different structures, phrasing and lengths, requiring different styles and techniques for mixing
As physical media, it plays back different on soundsystems giving warm and rich analog sound but also coming with risks and unpredictability: crackles, scratches, skipping. All of which lend a unique sense of character and immediacy to vinyl sets.
We’re not saying vinyl is better than digital but it is different - and this series is about celebrating those differences.
Setting the stage for an alternative club experience than our regular FTD events… a Magical Disc Adventure that journeys into a parallel musical universe.
