Would you like to explore and photograph two state parks unique to the rest of Florida? Join us as we go first to Florida Caverns State Park and explore the caves on a 1-hour guided tour at 12:15PM. (MUST BOOK NOW!)• 3345 Caverns Road, Marianna FL 32446
• $18pp + tax. $5 per car State Park fee.
• Arrive early if you’d like to explore the Park before the cavern tour.
• Wear closed-toed shoes with sure grip soles.
• You may take pictures in the cave but… NO tripods or monopods are allowed.
• The tour includes stairways, ascending and descending slopes, slippery walkways, passageways with ceiling heights of only 4.5 feet and short sections as narrow is 2.5 feet in width. The total distance you’ll walk is approximately ¾ miles from your starting point at the Visitor Center.

• At the time of this writing there are 23 slots available for the 12:15pm tour on Feb. 22. Book online NOW to be sure we are on the same tour! I am hoping the water will be falling on this day. I will call ahead and keep you posted. Falling Waters is about a 30-minute drive west of Florida Caverns. If the waters are NOT falling, we will keep heading west and tour historic Defuniak Springs instead!

• The 73’ waterfalls of Falling Waters State Park, the largest in Florida, fall into a 100-foot sinkhole and disappear into a large cavern. The waterfalls are fed by springs that are dependent on rainfall. The sinkhole is accessed by a paved trail and boardwalk. Fern-covered sinkholes line the boardwalk.
• The sinkholes at Falling Waters State Park were used as a hideout by Indian warriors. The park is also the location of an old gristmill, a distillery and the 1st oil well in Florida!
