The public is welcome to a prayer service at St. Mary Church in the Catholic Cultural Heritage Center at the Old Ursuline Convent Museum on Thursday, May 28, at 5:45 p.m. Those wishing to honor St. Joan are encouraged to dress in white and may bring flowers to leave at Joan's statue. Following the prayer service , after some refreshments, we will depart the convent to walk at approximately 6:45 for about three blocks in procession to the golden St. Joan of Arc statue near the French Market, where we will hold a brief ceremony and leave our flowers at the foot of the statue, concluding the event about 7:15. Those wishing to honor St. Joan are encouraged to dress in white and may bring flowers to leave at Joan's statue. The service is organized by members of the Krewe de Jeanne d'Arc in partnership with the Catholic Cultural Center, but anyone who would like to honor Joan of Arc is welcome to participate in the prayer service, procession, and/or the statue ceremony. Note: The feast day of St. Joan of Arc is actually May 30th, but the prayer service will be May 28.
