The Atlanta Chapter of the Federal Bar Association invites you to attend its 2024 Luncheon Honoring the Federal Judiciary. This annual tradition is our opportunity to honor our federal judges for the vital role they play in our system of justice.
We are delighted to welcome our keynote speaker this year. The Honorable JoAnn Jayne, the Chief Justice of the Navajo Nation Supreme Court in Window Rock, Arizona. Justice Jayne’s clan is Tábąąhá, born for Kinyaa’áanii. Chief Justice Jayne received a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University majoring in Agricultural Industry. She received a Master of Science Degree from the University of Arizona in watershed management with an emphasis in hydrology. She earned her juris doctor degree from the University of Montana School of Law, Missoula. Chief Justice Jayne is an attorney with licenses from the State of Montana and the Navajo Nation Bar Association. Aside from practicing law, she served four (4) consecutive terms in the Montana State House of Representatives where she was on the Appropriations Committee. Prior to her appointment to the Navajo Nation’s highest court, she served as a state court judge in Montana, judge in Blackfeet Tribal Court, an Associate Justice for the Appeals Court of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Court in Montana and served as the Chief Justice for the Apsáalooké (Crow) Tribal Appeals Court. She has been the Chief Justice of the Navajo Nation Supreme Court since 2018.
A members-only reception will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the luncheon will begin at 12:00 p.m.
