Now the kids call her an “iconic legend.” (“old”) What’s a queen to do when she wakes up and realizes she’s absolutely, definitely, so totally not one of the kids? Fauxnique looks in the mirror: this grande dame is damn fine. Then she looks around: women-of-a-certain-age-wondering-if-they’re-relevant are having a moment. She’s here to seize it with a triumphant return to the Oasis cabaret stage and a brand new show! Time marches on, but no one’s gonna rain on her parade.

So Relevant is an evening of theatrical glamour magic and real time real talk from a herstory-making lady drag queen and published author whom cabaret legend Justin Vivian Bond called “the Jane Goodall of drag.” Her work has been lauded as “engaging, critically serious, counter-culturally crucial,” (Michelle Tea) and “hilarious,” with an “intellectual spark” and “enough to make a girl want to revisit her Susan Sontag.” (SF Chronicle)
