Sarah Lyles, Founder of Attic Womenswear, and I met through social media, Twitter to be precise when it was a very different place. That was back in 2013 when I created The Local Indie Explorer Challenge. Aimed at supporting local businesses, The Local Indie Explorer Challenge highlighted the value of independent shops within a community. If there was ever a shining example of an independent store and owner that brings value to their community, Attic and Sarah are it. Both Sarah and I have been creating communities and collectives ever since. We have supported and promoted each others businesses and work since the day Sarah, and the local businesses she had brought together, welcomed me to Ilkley in July 2013.
Fashion & Friendship will start with Sarah and I sharing some of that story before you have a chance to browse the beautiful Spring and Summer collections Sarah has curated, collections that make Attic the award winning store that it is. The lastest Attic accolade is 'Ilkley's Most Loved Top Of The Shops'. There will be a chance to chat to friends, meet new people and come to understand why Sarah's warmth and personality, and that of the ladies that work for her, bring people back to the store again and again and make them #FanAttics.
During the evening, some of the collections will be modelled by some of those #FanAttics to show you how to create a capsule wardrobe that will take you through Spring and into Summer with style.
This really will be a fabulous evening of Fashion & Friendship.
