About this Event
Farm Fiesta - Latin Dance Workshop Series
Bienvenidos! Come join us for a summer Latin dance workshop series on Jean’s Farm. Marco Martinez and Yarrow Hogan will be hosting a dance series where students will learn Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia, and more. We request that everybody commit to attending all 3 sessions as the content will build on itself. Marco is a professional dancer and has been teaching folks to dance and thrive in these Latin rhythms for 7 years now. Yarrow will be accompanying him as an adjunct instructor. This will include beginner-level basics, as well as intermediate skills and styling, with some advanced techniques. We welcome people of all skill levels, and no partners are needed.
If you are unfamiliar with Jean’s Farm, we are a small, urban homestead farm located on Johnson Creek. We are a home to farm animals, a beautiful garden, and two spacious yurts. Our dance sessions will be indoors on a newly built hardwood floor, with some opportunities to display their skills on an outdoor stage in the apple tree yard.
During the last two sessions of the workshop, our farm will also be hosting a community gardening event, complete with live music, and students are more than welcome to enjoy the rest of the evening experiencing these festivities.
The sessions will take place on three Sunday evenings in June, from 4-6 pm, with a sliding scale of $60-80 for all 3 sessions.
