“All animals are equal but some are more equal than others”
After a sell-out run in 2021, The Construct Theatre Project (formerly MAYT Theatre) revisit and revitalise their exciting contemporary adaptation of George Orwell’s classic allegorical novel ‘Animal Farm’. A potent story of power, corruption and the importance of equality, this show addresses themes more relevant than ever in today’s social climate.
Old Major has died, his final words declaring that all animals will one day be free from Man. Hoping to achieve this goal, the animals, led by pigs Napoleon and Snowball rebel and banish their cruel master, Farmer Jones. It is not long before tensions begin to rise and the power vacuum created by Jones’ exile leads to corruption, deceit, and an increasingly sinister threat arising from within.
