After losing his job, paralegal Sam (writer/director Matthew Shear) lands an unexpected gig babysitting his therapist’s three unruly granddaughters—an arrangement that pulls him into the messy orbit of Dianne (an outstanding Amanda Peet), an actor with a stalled career, and David (Alessandro Nivola), her fame-hungry rock-bassist husband. As Sam bonds with Dianne over their shared mental-health battles, he begins to fall for her, and soon winds up on a summer vacation with the whole family—four Jewish grandparents included—on Martha’s Vineyard.
