Join us for the 2026 edition of Fanimaid Cafe at FanimeCon, and become part of one of the cutest maid cafes on the west coast! Build lifelong friendships with people who have shared interests and hobbies, while developing professional work skills and experience. We welcome first-timers with warm smiles and encouragement ❀◕ ‿ ◕❀ がんばって!Our San Francisco tryouts will take place on January 31 from 1 PM - 3 PM PST at the San Francisco Public Library - Martin Paley Conference Room on the 3rd floor. **Masks will be required for the duration of the tryouts.**
Please be aware that the Martin Paley room has limited seating. If you have any friends with you who are NOT auditioning, we kindly ask that they wait respectfully outside the audition room. They’re welcome to enjoy any activities the library has planned, or simply relax and read while they wait.
Here are the basic requirements for volunteering for Fanimaid Cafe:
1. You must identify as female. We understand that this label is imperfect and doesn’t encompass everyone, so feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. We are strictly a maid-only cafe, no butlers.
2. Be 18 years of age by FanimeCon. We will be doing ID checks.
3. Provide your own housing, transportation, and approved uniform.
4. Willingness to dedicate at least ~4 hours pre-con for training and ~10 hours at con. Maids are required to do one shift on Saturday and one shift on Sunday.
Being a Fanimaid is an unpaid volunteer role, not a compensated job. As a thank you, all Fanimaid volunteers will receive a free full weekend badge and discounted staff hotel rates.
