Neon Dreams closes out Fang-Tastic Weekend with Kathryn Bigelow's absurdly stylized grunge-pop masterpiece, Near Dark. A film that has become the benchmark for late-80s style and atmosphere thanks to Bigelow's ultra-cool direction and Tangerine Dream's iconic synthwave score.
A family of outlaw vampires roam the countryside in an RV with blacked-out windows, always hunting for their next victim. But when love springs eternal between a mortal and an immortal, things get weird! Featuring all-timer performances from Lance Henrickson, Jenny Wright, Jenette Goldstein, Joshua Miller, and Bill Paxton as the supremely watchable gang of shitkicking bloodsuckers, Near Dark is a violent, intense, romantic, hilarious, action-packed thrill ride through the Arizona desert that contains some of the most stunning and evocative imagery every put to celluloid.
