About this Event
Join us for a day of family-friendly making metalwork art at Alice Billing House.
Make a community-created aluminium sculpture for the courtyard of this historic building in Stratford!
Together we will construct a hose, which is a nod to the building's fire-fighting history, by using silver strips and cable which will come together to create a sculptural piece of art.
You will also have the opportunity to metal bash! Translate a drawing of your design on a piece of aluminium. Copy over your drawing with soft aluminium wire, fixing it in place with tape as you go Bash with a rubber hammer until you see your design embossed on the aluminium!
Your pieces of art will then be attached to the hose sculpture for all to admire!
No experience is necessary, just come with an open mind and a willingness to learn. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity
This workshop is led by Darcy Turner, who is a Newham-based designer, sculptor and inventor.
