About this Event
Led by Dr Kate Crawfurd, marine biologist and artist, we will look at how to identify different types of plastic using our infrared analyser, shred them ready for remoulding and learn how easy it can be to recycle. We’ll look at some of the beautiful, useful products we’ve already made from recycled plastic, and then try something new: creating colourful rain hats from bubble wrap and soft plastic packaging. Bring along any clean, flexible plastics you’d like to upcycle, and we’ll help you transform them into wearable art inspired by Plymouth’s changeable skies! With a touch of watercolour painting and plenty of creative play, this session promises a joyful mix of science, sustainability and imagination, showing that even waste can be wonderful.
