Falmouth is hosting a local venue for the Global Game Jam. Creating games in 48 hours.
About this Event

The Global Game Jam® (GGJ) is the world's largest game creation event taking place around the globe. A "game jam" is essentially a hackathon focused on game development. It is the growth of an idea that in today’s heavily connected world, we could come together, be creative, share experiences and express ourselves in a multitude of ways using video games – it is very universal. The weekend stirs a global creative buzz in games, while at the same time exploring the process of development, be it programming, iterative design, narrative exploration or artistic expression. It is all condensed into a 48 hour development cycle. The GGJ encourages people with all kinds of backgrounds to participate and contribute to this global spread of game development and creativity.

Venue: Falmouth University Games Academy, Unit 31 Parkengue, Kernick Industrial Estate, Penryn, Cornwall TR10 9EP.

Dates: 24-26 January 2025, and times:

Friday 24 Jan : 6pm to 10pm (launch announcement at 6pm)

Saturday 25 Jan: 8am to 10pm

Sunday 26 Jan: 8am to 6pm

There will be food provided for dinner at 8pm on Friday (pizza) and 5:30pm on Saturday (pasties). Please bring your own food and/or refreshments for all other mealtimes/snacks. We will contact all Jammers to confirm dietry requirements for the pizza and pasties.

For externals (non-Falmouth staff or students): guest log-ins would be available to use studio equipment, but if you are bringing your own laptop/kit, please ensure that it has been PAT tested (we can do this on-site ).
We will also support Jammers who want to join the site remotely, please select remote ticket type when signing up.

You don't need to be in an existing team to take part, we can match people at the start, based on similar ideas.
