Falls Prevention Information Session (Ageing Well Workshop)- Woodcroft Lib.

Falls are a primary health concern in Australian communities and can occur across all stages of life. 1 in 3 adults over 65 years old experience at least one fall per year. The good news is that falls can be minimised or prevented. This free session will be delivered by a qualified neurological physiotherapist and will cover:

• Common causes of falls
• Falls prevention strategies
• Identifying potential falls hazards
• The role of physical activity
• Specific exercises to reduce falls/risk
• Home safety interventions
• Additional specific risk factors
• Community balance classes, clinical rehabilitation class, community gym
• Further follow up: GP review, neurophysiotherapy assessment at Advanced Neuro Rehab.
