About this Event
Tutifruti’s “Falling Frut” is a poetry & movement workshop focused on exploring calculated risk-taking, confronting fear, and reframing the learning process. Though this workshop takes place at a skatepark, the activity will be absent of skating and instead focus on the art of falling.
After walking through the skatepark, participants will gear up for a falling clinic developed and led by Tutifruti.
Small groups will work their way through the skatepark, learning how to fall without the use of skateboards or rollerskates. We’ll take notes and observations as we experience various levels of fear, stress, fun, and excitement!
Miami-based visual artist and arts educator Sara Haley will lead participants through the poetic segment of this workshop—celebrating how learning something new (especially as an adult) is truly a process of “falling” and getting back up again—holistically informed by the emotions experienced during the physical portion.
