Join us at MLK Library for a transformative clothing swap, where you can breathe new life into pre-loved pieces and discover unique treasures. Whether you're decluttering or seeking one-of-a-kind finds, this event empowers fashion enthusiasts to refresh their style while promoting sustainability.
WHAT'S A CLOTHING SWAP?
A Clothing Swap is where participants gather together to exchange pre-loved clothing. Each person brings in their gently worn clothing that they no longer want, and then everyone gathers to exchange clothing. A Clothing Swap will provide everyone with the opportunity to revamp your style in a sustainable and budget-friendly way.
THERE WILL BE FOUR CLOTHING SWAPS IN 2025:
1. Spring - Saturday April 26th, 2025 from 1:30pm-3:30pm in 401-A
2. Summer - Saturday July 12th, 2025 from 1:30p.m.-3:30p.m. in the 5th floor Event Space
3. Fall - Saturday September 20th, 2025 from 1:30pm-3:30pm in the 5th floor Event Space
4. Winter- Sunday December 14th, 2025 from 2pm-3pm in the 5th floor Event Space (Drop-off starts at 1pm)
CLOTHING SWAP DETAILS:
- Drop-off begins at 12:30 pm. (A time when you can drop off your items for sorting and organizing so that you can swap hassle-free)
- Adult clothing of any sizes will be accepted.
- Attendees who wish to participate can contribute up to 10 pieces of clothing. (You must bring in items in order to leave with items.)
- Participants will receive tickets equal to the number of items brought that can be exchanged for other swapped items once browsing opens at 1:30pm.
- Please be mindful to only bring in items that are in gently-used, new, clean wearable condition. Stained, dirty, damaged, faulty clothing or clothing with unpleasant odors, will NOT be accepted.
- Unacceptable items are as follows: event t-shirts (rec sports leagues, marathons, reunions, etc.) undergarments, lingerie, socks, sleepwear, pajamas, hangers, swimsuits, children’s clothing, shoes, or accessories.
- Coats and Jackets will only be accepted at the fall & winter Clothing Swap in September& December.
- All remaining items will be donated to a charity
Please Note: Items are subjected to disposal if items do not align with the guidelines of this event. (Before items are discarded owners will have the option to retrieve their items.)
Registration is highly encouraged, as it ensures you'll receive a helpful reminder email, empowering you to stay on track and make the most of this exciting event.
