Members of the College of Music voice faculty will present vocal works by well-known composers whose music was declared "degenerate" and forbidden during the Third Reich. Our program includes beloved and lesser-known works by Felix Mendelssohn, Gustav Mahler, Kurt Weill, Franz Schreker, Hanns Eisler and Erich Korngold. The composers represented in our programming were victims of racism, persecution and the politicization of art. We will provide context for our musical choices, but our main goal will be to share wonderful music with our audience.
Presented for free in-person and livestreamed by the CU Boulder College of Music!
