FAAAC Presents: Youth Aviation Workshop with Red Tail Flight Academy

Friends of African American Art & Culture (FAAAC) proudly presents an aviation workshop for youth ages 12 to 18 in partnership with Red Tail Flight Academy. Led by flight instructor Sadiki Pierre, this interactive workshop covers aviation education, career pathways, and personal mentorship with instruction and a Q&A session. A part of FAAAC’s ongoing work to uplift Black and African American history, this program brings that legacy into conversation with present-day opportunities in aviation. Participants gain valuable insights, practical advice, deeper understanding of aviation, and the confidence to pursue opportunities in the field. Free. Registration required as space is limited.
Sadiki Pierre began his aviation journey at Daniel Webster College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in aviation flight operations along with his CFI, CFII, and MEI certifications. Known for completing the program faster than any student before him, he stood out in a program recognized for its high attrition rate. Despite early promise, his professional flying career in the New York City area was cut short in the aftermath of 9/11, when an already nondiverse industry became even more difficult to navigate, particularly for a Trinidad-born pilot with a Muslim-sounding name. As chief flight instructor with the RedTail Flight Academy and through his work with the Tuskegee Airmen, Pierre has helped inspire and mentor countless young people of color to pursue opportunities in aviation, ensuring his impact on the skies continues in a far more meaningful way.
