Join us at our monthly open days to come chat with us about our F150 locomotive restoration and come see for yourself the amazing mahi done to date to bring her back to the Southland railways.Built in Glasgow, the F150 served on New Zealand Railways from 1882 until its retirement 1958 in Invercargill. Gifted to the Invercargill City Council and installed in the Newfield playground in 1962, along with a WWII Valentine tank, both enjoyed by local children until they were removed in 1974.
Our open days are intended for young and old, steam enthusiasts and those just keen to check out some Southland heritage and support their community. This is the perfect event when looking for something to do as the days get shorter and cooler into winter.
