“F is for… Reading Club” is a space dedicated to conversations around feminism, artistic praxis and art histories from Southeast Asia.
Across three weekly sessions, this Reading Club engages with narratives, artworks and archives introduced in “Fear No Power”, exploring questions such as: What is feminism within the context of Southeast Asian art worlds? How do experiences of gender correlate to the writing of art histories from this region? What can we learn from feminism in artistic practice?
Come with curiosity and openness—the Reading Club welcomes anyone interested in delving deeper into feminism and artistic praxis in the region. Together, over three sessions, we will reflect on selected materials in tandem with one another, exchanging new perspectives and generating insights on practices across generations and geographies.
“F is for… Reading Club” is co-developed with and facilitated by The Motley Kolektif. Light refreshments will be provided. The ticket is for all three sessions; participants are highly encouraged to attend all sessions, which will address different topics, texts and artworks.

About the Facilitator
The Motley Kolektif is an art and writing collective based in Singapore, founded by Sofia Mariah Ma and Nurul Kaiyisah (Kai). The collective is interested in diversifying conversations surrounding creative works that may, in some way, be under the radar of global audiences and platforms. Its curated selection of activities, programs and events aim to delve into these dialogues, particularly on writings and visual works that lie between crevices of institutions and cooperations. Here, the collective had embarked on projects that stand astride between the art and literary scenes in Singapore; including publishing a flash fiction zine “Intermezzo” (2025) and the “Enfleshed Reading Club” (2025).
