Koncertní řada Femme Fatale přiváží do Prahy jednu z nejvýraznějších osobností současné post-klasické hudby. Islandská klavíristka a skladatelka Eydís Evensen se 29. dubna vrací do Paláce Akropolis, aby českému publiku představila své zbrusu nové album Oceanic Mirror.Eydís Evensen patří k nejpozoruhodnějším islandským hudebním exportům posledních let. Ačkoli je klasicky školená, její tvorbu jednoznačně vede cit a instinkt. Vytváří hluboce emotivní hudební krajiny na pomezí moderní klasiky, ambientního minimalismu a filmové kompozice. Její hudba je stejně zakořeněná v technice jako v pocitu – je to tvorba, která nejen promlouvá, ale také „naslouchá“.
Pochází z větrného severu Islandu, z městečka Blönduós, kde drsná krajina formuje každodenní život. První skladbu napsala už jako sedmiletá během prudké sněhové bouře, která symbolicky předznamenala její hudební rukopis: krása v křehkosti, pohyb z ticha a hluboké spojení s přírodou.
Její debutové album Bylur (Sony XXIM Records, 2021) – pojmenované podle islandského slova pro sněhovou bouři – je intimní sbírkou klavírních kompozic a smyčcových aranží mapujících její cestu od dětství do dospělosti. Následné album The Light (2023) rozšířilo její zvuk o chorální prvky, elektroniku a poprvé také o její vlastní hlas.
Na nové desce Oceanic Mirror Eydís dále prohlubuje svůj charakteristický zvuk a otevírá se novým vlivům. Album vznikalo v úzké spolupráci s výraznými osobnostmi islandské a severské scény, mezi nimiž vyniká zejména Janus Rasmussen (Kiasmos), jehož cit pro elektronickou texturu a minimalistické beaty dodává nahrávce jemnou pulzující energii. Deska tak spojuje klavírní intimitu s lehce ambientní elektronikou a novými zvukovými krajiny, které vznikají z dialogu mezi citlivostí Eydís Evensen a Rasmussenovým precizním elektronickým rukopisem.
Album doplňují i další islandští hudebníci a aranžéři, kteří pomohli vytvořit organický, hluboce atmosférický celek. Oceanic Mirror je tak dosud nejkomplexnějším a nejodvážnějším projektem Eydís Evensen – nahrávkou, která si stále zachovává její intimitu, ale rozšiřuje její svět do nových hloubek.
Její vystoupení jsou známá svou ponořenou a tichou intenzitou. Eydís dokáže vytvořit prostor, v němž hudba neznamená jen poslech, ale společný prožitek – koncerty jsou intimní, hluboce atmosférické a pokaždé jiné, formované daným místem a energií publika.

The Femme Fatale concert series brings one of the most distinctive voices of today’s post-classical scene to Prague. Icelandic pianist and composer Eydís Evensen returns to Palác Akropolis on 29 April to present her brand-new album Oceanic Mirror to Czech audiences.
Eydís Evensen is one of Iceland’s most remarkable musical exports of recent years. Although classically trained, her work is guided above all by instinct and emotion. She creates deeply emotive soundscapes that move between modern classical music, ambient minimalism and cinematic composition. Her music is as rooted in technique as it is in feeling — compositions that not only speak, but also listen.
Born in the windswept northern town of Blönduós, where the dramatic Icelandic landscape shapes everyday life, she wrote her first composition at the age of seven during a fierce snowstorm. That moment symbolically foreshadowed her future musical voice: beauty within fragility, movement emerging from silence, and a profound connection to the natural world.
Her debut album Bylur (Sony XXIM Records, 2021) — named after the Icelandic word for “snowstorm” — is an intimate collection of piano pieces and string arrangements tracing her emotional journey from childhood to adulthood. Her second album, The Light (2023), expanded her sonic palette to include choral textures, subtle electronics and, for the first time, her own voice.
Oceanic Mirror – new paths, new collaborators
On her new album Oceanic Mirror, Eydís further deepens her signature sound and opens herself to new influences. The record was created in close collaboration with leading figures of the Icelandic and Nordic scenes — most notably Janus Rasmussen (Kiasmos), whose sense for electronic textures and minimalist rhythmic patterns adds a delicate, pulsing energy to the album. The result is a blend of piano intimacy with ambient electronics and new sonic landscapes emerging from the dialogue between Evensen’s emotional sensitivity and Rasmussen’s precise electronic craftsmanship.
Additional Icelandic musicians and arrangers contribute to the album, helping to shape an organic, richly atmospheric whole. Oceanic Mirror stands as Eydís Evensen’s most complex and daring project to date — a record that maintains her trademark intimacy while expanding her musical world into new depths.
