About this Event

We all go through seasons of grief at some point - whether from losing a person, or perhaps when a relationship breaks down, we're uprooted from our home, or our dreams collapse in on us. It impacts everyone, and yet as a society we aren’t usually very good at talking about it.

Join us for a talk, film screening and Q&A, with Anna May, artist and founder of The Student Grief Network and Executive Head of Grief Programmes at Kaplan International. Anna created the short film Floating on Blue as way of expressing herself after her brother and Dad died. At the event, she’ll be sharing more about her experiences, and inviting the audience to think about how we can explore difficult personal subjects through film and other artistic mediums. You can watch the trailer and find out more about Floating on Blue here: Floating on Blue - Anna May

The event will take place at 1pm with free food, and the film will also be showing on a loop in the white box gallery from 2-4pm, if you prefer to watch it quietly. There will be some reflective prompts set up in the space if you want to take some time to think about your own experiences.

We know grief can be a tricky subject, and it’s important to get support if you need it. The following resources may be a helpful place to start:
