When it’s not quite winter anymore, and sorta feels like spring, we call it ‘wing’. The birds will be returning, and many other signs of the season's change will be present in our big collective backyard. Come join nature enthusiasts Ayla Erickson and Andrea Doerr to explore phenology, or the study of nature's timing, and learn how to keep a simple phenology journal for tracking these small wonders that happen year round (but are especially exciting in ‘wing’).
After a little time in the classroom we’ll go exploring one or more outdoor spaces close by town.
We’ll plan to consolidate into fewer cars to travel to the locations and will return to the Folk School to conclude.
Instructors: Andrea Doerr & Ayla Erickson
