About this Event
THIS EVENT IS ONLY OPEN TO THE INTERIOR DESIGN & ARCHITECTURUAL COMMUNITY ONLY
As our next installment of IIDA PND's Wellness Series, join us for an immersive nature walk through Wissahickon Creek. Guided by Kim Douglas, Director of the Landscape Architecture program at Jefferson University, the walk is designed to help you reset and reconnect with nature.
We will move at a relaxed pace, taking the time to experience the woods through all five senses—from the fresh air and birdsong to the sunlight through the trees. This is a wonderful opportunity to unwind, clear your head, and leave feeling refocused and recharged.
The Benefits of a Nature Walk
- Lowers stress: The quiet, fresh air, and slower pace help your mind and body relax.
- Boosts mood: Nature tends to lift your spirits and ease anxiety; you’ll often leave feeling lighter and more positive.
- Clears your head: Fewer screens and distractions makes it easier to focus, reflect, and reset mentally.
- Gentle movement: Walking is low-impact cardio that supports heart health, circulation, and steady energy.
- Better sleep: Time outside plus movement can help you fall asleep easier and sleep more deeply.
- Supports immunity: Regular time in nature is linked to stronger overall resilience and fewer “run down” feelings.
- Helps you feel grounded: Being surrounded by trees and natural sounds can make you feel more present and emotionally balanced.
