About this Event
This training will provide participants with a survey in several modalities of trauma treatment, including desensitization-based methods such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), somatic and mindfulness-based methods such as trauma-sensitive mindfulness practice, and narrative/constructivist methods such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy.
The training is intended to introduce participants to these methods and to give them both an intellectual and experiential understanding of the mechanisms by which each style of treatment is effective in improving outcomes for trauma survivors. Self-care planning with the intent of avoiding and combatting clinician burnout and vicarious trauma will also be explored.
