About this Event
Please note: The event will take place in the UAL gallery space next to the UAL studio on the 5th floor at Peckham Levels and is part of UAL's Intercultural Zine Fair.
Lucie Russell (@drawing.people.together) and Rosie Wellman (@r0siegd) invite you to a #DIY zine ‘talkshop’ exploring experiences of neurodiversity.
Rosie: “Talking whilst creating can open up the space for honest dialogue and discussion, and this is what we hope to provide. A ‘talkshop’ intended for learning from each other in whatever form this may take."
Lucie: “This ‘Talkshop’ will experiment with combining talking and making to create more accessible and open dialogue where we can learn from each other. Joining us to create zines and/or conversations about neurodiversity are all amazing outcomes. Materials are provided just bringing yourself is enough to be part of this DIY event”

Bios
Lucie Russell is a neurodiverse artist, researcher and drawing facilitator. She founded Drawing People Together in Peckham in 2017 creating and facilitating diverse socially engaged events that invite everybody to draw together exploring themes of community and expressions of individuality. She also runs Peckham Life Drawing which explores looking beyond (just) observational drawing to experiences of embodiment(s). She is currently researching and developing drawing (verb and noun) as tools for neurodiversity and social innovation.
Rosie Wellman is currently studying BA Graphic and Media Design at London College of Communication. “With a focus on representation and identity, my practice is inspired by my passion for editorial design and printmaking through a combination of analog and digital processes. I'm also an advocate for neurodiversity, specifically autistic women. Motivated by my own experience, I have had the opportunity to host a talk at the V&A on the topic of being neurodiverse within the industry, and continue to use my practise to uplift the voices of this community through art and design.”
