În 2016, Marea Britanie a decis să părăsească Uniunea Europeană până la sfârșitul lunii martie 2019. Ca răspuns, Londra a organizat „Borough of Culture”, un eveniment inspirat de programul Capitala Europeană a Culturii. În cadrul acestui program, un duo de artiști polonezi este invitat în Walthamstow pentru a spune povestea Brexit-ului din propria perspectivă.
Există însă o singură problemă: data Brexit-ului este amânată - apoi amânată din nou, și apoi încă o dată. În cele din urmă, Brexit-ul are loc la scurt timp după premieră, iar premiera în sine - alături de alte evenimente din 2019, devin baza spectacolului „EXIT THROUGH THE POLISH SHOP” (2025).
În procesul creativ caracteristic lor, Turkowski & Nowacka se lasă ghidați (împreună cu publicul) de realitate și de firul narativ către direcții neașteptate.
Povestea pe care o descoperă pe parcurs se dovedește a-i aștepta în fața magazinului „Wędlinka” (magazin cu specific polonez), care, după cum își dau seama curând, ar putea de asemenea să facă parte din istoria Brexit-ului.

EXIT THROUGH THE POLISH SHOP
Turkowski&Nowacka
In 2016, the British nation decided to leave the European Union by the end of March 2019. In response, London organized "Borough of Culture", an event inspired by the European Capital of Culture. As part of the program, a duo of Polish artists is invited to Walthamstow to tell the story of Brexit from their own perspective.
There is just one problem: the Brexit date is postponed - then postponed again, and then once more. Eventually, it takes place shortly after the premiere, and the premiere itself, along with other events from 2019, becomes the basis for “EXIT THROUGH THE POLISH SHOP" (2025).
In their characteristic creative process, Turkowski & Nowacka allow themselves (and the audience) to be guided by reality (and the story) in unexpected directions. The story they discover along the way turns out to be waiting in front of the Polish shop “Wędlinka” (deli meats) which, as they soon realize, may also be part of the history of Brexit.
