El Instituto Cervantes Londres en colaboración con Exiled Writers Ink, presenta una velada de poesía y literatura en homenaje a Alfredo Cordal y su libro Lenguas de Fuego / Tongues of Fire.
Escritores y ponentes invitados explorarán su legado. Alfredo Cordal - (Santiago de Chile, 23 de abril de 1941 – Londres, 7 de octubre de 2022) Poeta y periodista en su Chile natal, se vio obligado a exiliarse durante el régimen militar de Pinochet en los años setenta — un exilio que permaneció en el núcleo de su ser y sobre el que nunca dejó de escribir.
Fue dramaturgo y destacado artista de performance de su propia obra. Sus trabajos se presentaron en teatros de Londres como The White Bear (Kennington), The Lyric Hammersmith y The Bridge Lane, entre otros. Participó en festivales y eventos latinoamericanos y de refugiados, y fue miembro de Exiled Writers Ink. Sus poemas fueron incluidos en numerosas antologías y publicó su libro Lenguas de Fuego.

Instituto Cervantes London, in collaboration with Exiled Writers Ink, presents an evening of poetry and literature in tribute to Alfredo Cordal and his book Lenguas de Fuego / Tongues of Fire.
Guest writers and speakers will explore his legacy. Alfredo Cordal (Santiago de Chile, 23 April 1941 – London, 7 October 2022), poet and journalist in his native Chile, was forced into exile during Pinochet’s military regime in the 1970s—an exile that remained at the core of his being and about which he never stopped writing.
He was also a playwright and a prominent performance artist of his own work. His pieces were staged in London theatres such as The White Bear (Kennington), the Lyric Hammersmith and the Bridge Lane, among others. He took part in Latin American and refugee festivals and events, and was a member of Exiled Writers Ink. His poems were featured in numerous anthologies, and he published his book Lenguas de Fuego.
