This Sunday 10/19 from 1-3 PM join us for an interactive presentation on fire ecology geared towards all ages at Valley View Nature Learning Center! 🔥🔥 Sawyer and fire practitioner Lou Bean will teach us how we can create fire adapted communities through board games, video games, and hands-on activities . About Lou Bean: Lou Bean is a sawyer and fire practitioner from Colorado. In addition to fire mitigation, prescribed burning, suppression, and burn scar recovery work, Bean is passionate about empowering community members and early career professionals with training and education, both in their work leading saw and burn crews with the Conservation Corps, coordinating the Neighborhood Ambassador outreach program with SPAWP, and volunteering as a structural and wildland firefighter with Chaffee County Fire. Bean also runs The Blaze Project, which designs fire ecology curriculum and events for classrooms and non-traditional learning environments and providing mitigation training to land owners.
