About this Event
Macromedia University invites you to this public event hosted by Prof. Oliver Szasz together with Reem Alwahabi (Director of Design at DeepL) and Avani Bohara, (independent design consultant), exploring how artificial intelligence is transforming creativity, decision-making, and trust.
For centuries, creative knowledge was concentrated in the hands of specialists. The great Gothic cathedrals of Europe were built under the guidance of master builders who combined architecture, engineering, and craft. Their expertise developed through practice and apprenticeship, and monumental projects unfolded across generations.
Today, AI systems are changing this dynamic. AI tools increasingly participate in cognitive work. Ideas can be generated instantly and explored at scale. The role of humans shifts from producing ideas to interpreting and selecting among possibilities. Judgment, context, and taste become central.
The event explores this transition from individual authorship toward more collective forms of creation, sometimes described as an emerging “AI hive mind,” where human inputs and machine outputs interact to shape ideas. Participants will also take part in a live co-creation experiment. Using their phones, audience members interact with an AI system to develop a concept in real time. The session concludes with a discussion on the future of design, technology, and trust, reflecting on which human capabilities remain essential in an AI-augmented world.
Please note: This is a hybrid event. If you are located near the Munich campus of Macromedia University, we recommend attending in person. Please arrive early (doors open at 17:30) to secure a seat, as the space is limited to 50 participants.
