About this Event
Join Thank You Chinatown for an experiential walking tour exploring Chinatown's place within one of Toronto's oldest open-air market districts as part of Toronto Public Markets Week 2026!
Chinatown is known for its tourism, affordable groceries, and great food, but this tour goes beyond the main streets. We'll guide you through alleyways, shortcuts, and hidden corners of the neighbourhood, exploring how everyday life in Chinatown sustains its vibrant market culture.
Come discover the people, places, and stories that keep Chinatown moving.
Participants will enjoy tasting samples from Hong Kong Island and receive a takeaway souvenir from Thank You Chinatown.
The tour begins at Huron Square and will depart promptly at 1:30 pm. Tours take place rain or shine, please dress for the weather, bring a waterbottle and wear comfortable shoes. This tour is led in English and includes walking approximately 1-2km. If you require support to be able to fully participate in the tour please let us know so that we can accommodate you!
This tour is one of a series offered through marketcityTO as part of Toronto's Public Markets Week (June 6-13) in partnership with Thank You Chinatown and is part of the #ILoveTorontoMarkets campaign.
This project has been funded by the City of Toronto's Economic Development and Culture Division. Thanks to this funding support, we are able to offer this tour free of charge. The $5 registration fee is to secure your spot, however each person attending will receive a $5+ complimentary tasting.
