Come see a play about, well, everybody! Corning, New York; November 14th - 17th, 2024. Muse Of Fire Theatre in The Schuyler Theatre at SUNY Corning Community College presents EVERYBODY: by Tony Award Winning Playwright, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins.
EVERYBODY, a modern adaptation of a 15th-century “morality play,” titled “Everyman,” follows the character of “Everybody,” as they are informed by Death that they have been chosen to go on a “once in a lifetime” journey. EVERYBODY will unite audiences in the exploration and experience of this journey. A piece of self-aware theatre, EVERYBODY is funny and moving - a bitter-sweet way to spend a weekend in November. The ensemble of CCC students and community members will perform this Pulitzer Nominated One-Act Play, bringing it to the Southern Tier Community.
The Shows are $10 for Students and Seniors, and ($20) for general admission. EVERYBODY is showing at 7 P.M. on November 14, 15 + 16. There is also a show at 2P.M. on November 17th, with the proceeds benefiting Corning Community College Campus Interfaith Ministries.
The performances occur in The Schuyler Theatre, on the Spencer Hill Campus. (1 Academic Dr, Corning New York,14830.)
The Ensemble of EVERYBODY is directed by Professor Mary Guzzy, and includes nine student and community actors. This semester, the production is supported by collaboration with the new Intro to Tech Threatre Class offered at SUNY CCC as part of their Tech Theatre Micro-Credential. The performance of theatre at CCC is education-based and is an opportunity for college students to be empowered and learn theatre creation in a supportive community.
Please share with any organizations, leaders, audience members or communities to experience this exciting play, never before performed in our area.
