About the Festival
Celebrate the richness of European cinema at Ode to Joy: European CineFest San Francisco, featuring a curated selection of films from across the continent. From captivating dramas and imaginative animations to thought-provoking documentaries, the festival highlights the unique voices and stories that define Europe’s cultural landscape. Each film offers audiences a chance to explore new perspectives, experience different cultures, and be inspired by compelling storytelling. The festival is organized by the EU Office in San Francisco in conjunction with the EU Consulates and European Cultural Centers. Screenings take place at three distinctive San Francisco venues: INNOVIT, Alliance Française, and the Delancey Street Screening Room, welcoming both seasoned cinephiles and newcomers to European film.
Featured Film – Diamanti (Italy)
Two sisters run a glamorous fashion house in Rome in the seventies, they cater for Oscars' winning Best Costume Design customers. Colors, sewing and fabric are at the core of the movie; but lots of dramas unfolds in this close knit community of seamstresses. Suitable for ages 13+.
