You are welcome to join Philadelphia Ethical Society's Board member, Stan Horwitz for a free showing of the science fiction film Contact. This film is about humanity's first contact with an advanced extraterrestrial civilization discovered by a team of scientists who receive and decipher a complex coded message from outer space containing the blueprints for a machine to travel to the stars. This 1997 film, starring Jodi Foster, explores themes of science, religion, politics, and the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI), based on a screenplay the late Carl Sagan co-wrote with his wife Ann Druyan.This event is free. No need to register. This film will be shown in the main room on the first floor of the Philadelphia Ethical Society. You are welcome to bring a snack and/or non-alcoholic beverage (with cups) to share.
