This event will be held with an in-person audience at Conway Hall and online via live stream.
For almost five million years humans have been locked in a relationship with morality inventing and reinventing the concepts of Good and Evil. In this Ethical Matters talk philosopher Dr Hanno Sauer traces humanity’s fundamental moral transformations from our earliest ancestors through to the present day.
At a time when it may seem that we have never disagreed more over what it means to be good or right and the entire concept of morality sits firmly in the grey area Hanno asks what is moral progress and where could the evolution of morality take us next?
Hanno Sauer teaches ethics metaethics and political philosophy at Utrecht University. He is a member of the Ethics Institute.
