About this Event
You are warmly invited the 1st Dialogue on Environmental Peacebuilding, where we will be reflecting about the interplay of environmental conflicts and Total Peace in Colombia.
This event is part of a series of hybrid dialogues organised by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), the Centre of Religion, Reconciliation and Peace at the University of Winchester, and Rodeemos el Diálogo (Embrace Dialogue, ReD).
On this occasion, Carlos Zapata will be discussing the topic of gold mining along the Nechí River in Antioquia.
This space is meant to be a dialogue instead of a lecture. As our special guest shares their expertise on their topic, participants are invited and encouraged to share their ideas and/or experiences, in order to think together about the relationship between the environment, conflict, and peace.
We will continue to invite practitioners, academics, and decision-makers to share their research, policies, and activities around environmental peacebuilding processes in Colombia.
Special guest: Carlos Andrés Zapata Cardona (Director of the Instituto Popular de Capacitación, Medellín, Antioquia; PhD researcher, Universidad Pablo de Olarte, Sevilla)
Convener: Chiara Chiavaroli (PhD researcher at the Department of International Development at LSE; and Member of Embrace Dialogue)
