About the Event

In celebration of Women’s History Month, City Ave District invites you to Empower Hour: The Art of the Pivot, a candid and inspiring conversation hosted at 6ABC Studios.

This year’s Empower Hour explores a topic rarely found on a résumé: failure.

Featuring Tamala Edwards, 6ABC anchor and former White House correspondent, and Mary Lou Quinlan, world-renowned marketing strategist, bestselling author and visionary behind Saint Joseph’s University’s newly expanded Alumnae Center for Leadership, the discussion will move beyond professional highlight reels into the real moments that reshape us.

From public career pivots to private turning points this session reframes failure as evolution. Not a dead end but a necessary chapter in growth.

Why 6ABC?

We are proud to host this event at 6ABC, a station long defined by a culture and “vibe” of strong female leadership that stands out in today’s media landscape. We also celebrate a historic moment for our neighbors at Saint Joseph’s University, home to its first female president, the Frances M. Maguire Art Museum, and the evolution of a new leadership center built by women, designed for all.

What to Expect

• A behind-the-scenes studio experience
• Honest, unscripted conversation
• Collective wisdom from two extraordinary women
• Opportunity to receive Mary Lou Quinlan’s celebrated book, The God Box
• A meaningful way to give back, with all proceeds benefiting the Maternity Care Coalition & The SJU Alumnae Center for Leadership

Come for the studio access.
Stay for the perspective shift.
